
She Venom
During my time at ILM, I was fortunate enough to get to build a new she venom for Venom: The last Dance
we had to build her in line with the venom symbiote, so the simple solution was to share topology, but for form and shape were all brand new. The idea was to have a less buxom she venom, and one that was more athletic, more like she was wearing a swimming costume, and less sexual.
I reshaped her in Zbrush, with constant consulting with the client regarding reference, shape and form, we had to produce a lot of "wedges" to test out at which point she appeared more athletic, and when it strayed into too muscley or too titilating.
The concept work was done in zbrush with the final clean up in maya to enssure the model blended sucessfully to the origional venom geometry. Her teeth and eye placement were refined to a new look, with her eyes in particular imitating that of a fly or mirrorball, more like 100's of diamonds than a single white sheen, this was designed as a nod to the hosts character, who was established as a big fan of the christmas season and all things shiney.
